Policy makers are involved in making policies that ensure worker health. EPHOR and other exposome studies will create a new and growing scientific knowledge base on the working-life exposome in relation to non-communicable diseases, providing the basis for data-driven and effective policy making. Tools are made available which help policy makers in their process.
This interactive tool allows you to explore which exposures (chemical, physical, ergonomic, work organizational, and psychosocial aspects) may occur in which occupational group as well as the size of the exposed population.

Explore potential chemical, physical, ergonomic, work organizational, and psychosocial exposures and exposed population sizes by occupational group and country.
Health impact assessment is often used as a basis for policy decisions. The following tools describe the use. Policy makers make decisions on measuring effecting health. To study the impact of these measures applying the exposome context, new health impact assessment methods are needed which are developed in EPHOR.

Basic introduction to using working life expectancy for health impact assessment.
The exposome paradigm will result in 1) a shift from a ‘one exposure-one disease’ hypothesis-driven approach to a data-driven integrative approach revealing the complex picture between multiple exposures and health effects also including the more rare exposures and diseases; and 2) investigation of vulnerable life stages and population subgroups (e.g. based on gender, region or job title). People involved in policy making will be informed about the state-of-the-art knowledge and how this can be used in their daily practice.

Tools for health scientists
Within EPHOR we deliver new sophisticated technologies, tools and methods. To ensure the (re)use of these outcomes this toolbox contains various tools which can be used in future (exposome) projects.
Tools for OSH professionals
Exposome research and new technologies offer new possibilities for OSH professionals in their daily practice. Various tools are made available which help OSH professionals in their work.
